An Attached Assignment

Then God said, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years.  Let these lights in the sky shine down on the earth.”

And that is what happened. God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. He also made the stars.

God set these lights in the sky to light the earth, to govern the day and night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. Genesis 1:14-18 NLT

Everything and everyone that the LORD created was made with a purpose.

For instance, He made the sun to give light to the earth by day and the moon to give light to the earth by night. He made the sun, moon, and stars to be for signs, seasons, days and years.

YHVH did not merely made them and then give them something to do to keep them occupied but part of their assignment was to dominate (govern, rule) their sphere of influence. His intention is for them to have a commanding influence on the area of control that He has given to them. This means that no other entity should have power over what the LORD has given to their charge. They should take charge and dominate.

Another example is King Solomon. He was established or created to succeed his father, King David, as well as to build a house or temple for the LORD and carry on the promise of a secure and forever throne for the house of David (See 2 Samuel 7:12-13).

Even though King David had many sons, only King Solomon could have accomplished what he did. Not only did he fulfill his assignment but he excelled at it — he dominated.

In the same way, when the Word of the LORD was released concerning the creation of mankind, He had a purpose attached to His creation.

Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, in the likeness of ourselves; and let them rule over the fish in the sea, the birds in the air, the animals, and over all the earth, and over every crawling creature that crawls on the earth.” Genesis 1:26 CJB

Humankind was created and then commissioned (given the order of their assignment as well as the authority to fulfill that assignment)

Following the principle of creation, this means that when the LORD made you and me, there was an assignment attached to our existence; and in addition to the attached assignment, we were given the ability and authority to fulfill it and to dominate in it.

Now because the enemy knows that everything the LORD created was made with a purpose or reason attached, he will seek to bring distractions to either prevent us completely from fulfilling our assignment or to cause us to operate in mediocrity and not govern fully.

He will release attacks against you in the form of various rejection, abandonment, disappointment, and delay in an attempt to distract you from who you are. His attacks are geared toward forming a false identity in your mind so that you will not accomplish what you were made to.

The enemy’s job is to oppose you. Your job is to dominate in the purpose for which you were created. Do not focus on the distractions of the enemy and what he is doing. He is doing what he is supposed to do, can you say the same for yourself?

Do you know who you are, and the reason for which you exist?

If you don’t, ask the LORD today. For who can best know the purpose of a thing than the one who created it? Let Him reveal who you are to you. And when He does, embrace it, retrain your mind so that you can fulfill what you were created to accomplish, and walk it out wholly.
